Most 1:48 scale destroyers will be about the 7/8ft size
Look up captain class frigates I know you can get the drawings ok for that and it is about 6th long
The same hull can be used for 5 other classes.
It is an American destroyer escort similar to british hunt class we got under lend lease

Ok here are a couple of drawings for destroyers
both british and small escort destroyers

Hunt Class

Captain Class

The Captain class is the UK name for the American Buckley Class
there is also short captain class which were the american everts class but the drawings are for the long buckley class.

If you look for WW2 Destroyer escorts the hull shapes for the Buckley onwards are the same hulls but totally differant weapons outfit and superstructures

It was mine originaly and I was building it as a late war american John C. Butler class
so there is quite alot of a differance between the model and the captain class drawings

If you want some thing at about five feet in lengh, then how about a Kingfisher class sloop, that I belive is a desttroyer escort. I know Sirmar do one, as I have an unfinnised one in my garage!
Hope it helps.

The plans that Claus (many thanks Claus) sent are just too good a chance to miss, the first one then is something unusual not often seen....a japanese destroyer "akizuki" @ 1/48 resulting in a rather large model of 9 foot.
